New Italian Visa Application Centre in New Delhi
Antonio Bartoli, the Italian ambassador, declared that a new Italian visa application facility would open in New Delhi to handle an unprecedented volume of Indian visa applications. The new visa application office in New Delhi is now where Indians can apply for a Schengen visa to enter Italy.
The Italian Ambassador and officials from India's Ministry of External Affairs graced the opening of the new visa application center. The Italian Ambassador expressed his delight at the inauguration of a visa application center especially dedicated to Italian visas.
Increased Demand for Italian Visas from Indians
Recent data indicate that Indian nationals are seeking Italian visas at a higher rate. In 2023, some 91,600 visas were processed by the Italian Consulate General in Kolkata and the Italian Embassy in New Delhi.
The Italian Consulate General in Bangalore reported a 28% rise in demand for Italian visas as of the first quarter of 2024. By 2024, the Italian embassy hopes to have handled 100,000 Indian visa applications, up from the 54,200 that have been processed thus far.
