The new system for the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) intends to expedite the selection procedure by matching candidate profiles with the demands of Alberta's labor market.

Those who want to be invited to apply for one of Alberta's worker immigration streams.

The purpose of the Worker EOI is to assist Alberta in attracting skilled labor in order to satisfy its demographic and economic requirements.

Candidates will be able to declare their employment history, talents, and qualifications through the software; these will then be graded and scored. 

Recognizing the New Points System for Alberta Permanent Residency

For candidates, the Worker EOI points grid is essential because it establishes their eligibility and draw ranking.

Schooling (up to 22 points):

Doctorate holders score 12 points, master's degree holders score 10, and bachelor's or trades certificates/diploma holders score 7. Higher education levels are awarded more points.

Education completed in Alberta is worth 10 points, whereas education obtained in other Canadian provinces is worth 6 points.

Proficiency in Language (up to 13 points):

To be eligible, candidates must have at least CLB 4 in English or NCLC 4 in French. Points are awarded for higher language proficiency; a CLB 6 or above can receive up to 10 points. For multilingual proficiency, there are extra points (up to three).

Work Experience: 21 points maximum

Work experience is important; 11 points are awarded for 12 months or more. In Alberta, those who have worked in Canada before may receive up to 10 extra points.

Age (up to five points):

Candidates in the age range of 21 to 34 score the highest (5), with the remaining age groups scoring marginally lower.

Family Connections in Alberta (Max 8 points):

Having immediate family members in Alberta adds up to 8 points, benefiting those with established ties in the province.

Economic Factors (maximum 31 points):

Holding a job offer in Alberta, particularly in specific sectors or rural areas, provides significant points. Job offers in regulated occupations that meet Alberta’s standards can add up to 10 points.
