The second draw of the month is being held today, after a hectic summer. In 14 distinct Express Entry lotteries, the IRCC solicited candidates in July and August. More precisely, since the system's debut in 2015, July has broken the record for the most drawings in a single month. Between July 2 and July 31, there were nine drawings.
Before this one, the most recent Express Entry draw, which only took into account Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates, was held on September 9th and sent invitations to 911 candidates.
The IRCC has started drawing more than once every other week. Usually, there is one or more draws for PNP candidates. This is consistent with the IRCC's previously declared goal to organize more "domestic" draws to lower the number of temporary residents entering Canada and boost the opportunities for temporary residents already there to become permanent residents.
