Updated information on which programs qualify for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) has been made public by the IRCC.
Some overseas graduates at different levels of study who apply for a PGWP after November 1 will now have to fulfill extra area of study criteria in order to be eligible for a work permit, per revised rules that were issued in September.
Which academic disciplines are eligible for PGWPs?
The PGWP's eligible fields of study can be grouped according to occupations that are similar to the occupation-based Express Entry categories that the IRCC proposed in 2023 and are linked to the demands of the domestic labor market.

It is comparable to the National Occupation Classification (NOC) system for jobs in Canada.
