The New Germany Skilled Immigration Act has improved the opportunities for foreigners to get work permits.
The German Skilled Immigration Act is set to undergo new modifications. The most recent information indicates that in 2024, the nation will grant about 200,000 skilled foreign workers visas. It is anticipated that 10% more German visas will be issued altogether this year than the previous one. It was reported that 177,000 German national visas were awarded in 2023. Additionally, citizens of third countries indicated interest in studying German, obtaining vocational training, and even having their foreign degrees accepted in Germany.
Additionally, the nation launched the German Opportunity Card, which greatly helps highly qualified international workers.
Germany will simplify the application process for visas.
Plans to digitize the visa application procedure were revealed by German Foreign Affairs Minister Annalena Baerbock. To address the nation's labor deficit, the immigration procedure for highly trained foreign nationals will now be expedited. Approximately 400,000 jobs in various industries are now available in Germany. Employment-based social insurance contributions rose 1.6% between 2018 and 2023, with 89% of the contributions coming from immigrants.
